CORRMET STATIC AND DYNAMIC TESTS
STATIC TESTS
This equipment is normally used for testing coatings and reinforced plastic liners of various types and is occasionally used for testing inhibitors, elastomers and determining corrosion rates of coupons in various environments. Testing can be performed up to 500° F and 10,000 Psi using hydrogen sulfide, carbon dioxide, methane , crude oil and salt water, to name a few phases and environments.
DYNAMIC TESTS
Dynamic testing is primarily conventional "wheel " testing, The apparatus consists of an oven capable of heating up to 500° F. With a rotating wheel inside to which containers are fastened. The wheel rotates at 30 RPM. This device is used to screen inhibitors using sandblasted rod coupons in glass bottles. Also, high pressure wheel tests can be performed up to 10000 psi and 500° F in the existing apparatus.
A NACE Salt Flow Tester has been designed for specialty testing. This device flows 150° F aerated salt water through tubing a velocity of 2' to 3' per second. The normal test duration is 2000 hours. This is an excellent test for screening water flood coatings and reinforced plastic linings.
WAG TEST
This is a special test used to screen varied material (including Fiberglass tubing and pipe) for carbon dioxide injection services and is tagged as the "Wag Well" test. Carbon dioxide and salt water are alternatively injected into a pressure vessel in which the test specimen /specimens are placed. The test can be run under both static and dynamic conditions

TESTING OF STEELS FOR WET H2S SERVICES
The evaluation of Steels for Wet H2S Service is one of the specialized services which Corrmet offers in addition to many other special materials engineering and metallurgical capabilities and expertise on the broad technical areas related to materials, testing and corrosion engineering.
Hydrogen Induced Cracking (HIC) testing for oil and gas service is defined by NACE standard TM0284-96. The TM02-84 Standard consists of exposing unstressed coupons to a solution of synthetic sea water saturated with H2S at ambient temperature and pressure at a pH in the range of 5. After a specified time the coupons are removed and evaluated. To simulate the condition the solution from NACE Standard TM01-77-90 has been substituted.
Laboratory Testing of Metals for Resistance to Sulfide Stress Cracking (SSC) in H2S Environments, NACE TM01-77-90:
Method A (NACE Standard Tensile Test)
Method B (NACE Standard Bent Beam Test)
Method C (NACE Standard C-Ring Test)
ASTM G-39 (Bent-Beam Stress-Corrosion Test)
Double Beam for SOHIC Test ( DBC specimens)
Corrmet has been selected by the oil and gas industry to perform a series of full scale tests for evaluation of HIC resistance of plate steels for pressure vessels, pipeline steels and steel components such as forged and nozzles.

Oil Analysis for
Preventative Maintenance
The identification of various contaminants in engine, turbine and compressor oil can shed light on the condition of the internal parts and help to predict failures before they occur.
Wear metals analysis can identify problems with rings, bearings and similar parts. Testing for oxidation and nitration products can give the status of the lubricant and help to reduce varnishes, sludges and other deposits. The presence of antifreeze additives such as glycols, sodium, boron, and potassium can be used as indicators of cooling system leaks and seal failures.
Corrmet Engineering Services provides a program of testing and data interpretation that can increase the efficiency of your maintenance program to help reduce costs incurred from failures and down-time.
Programs can be custom designed for individual applications.
